Manchester City, champions of the English Premier League, will start the 2022-23 season with West Ham away from home in the first leg, according to the draw held by the League on Thursday.
Manchester City had a bitter fight with Liverpool before the former pulled back one point from last season.
City have bolstered their ranks with Norwegian striker Erling Halland in recent days and this will therefore be his first official match with the new team.
For their part, Liverpool play outside their bases and also in London when visiting Fulham, who have returned to the Premier League.
Liverpool, in turn, bolstered their ranks by signing Portuguese Benfica player Uruguayan player Darwin Nunez for a record amount that could be as high as €100m.
And new Manchester United manager Eric Ten Hag plays his first official match as his team hosts Brighton at Old Trafford.
Nottingham Forest are playing their first match in the elite league since 1999, when visiting Newcastle.
The league will start on August 5 and end on May 28, 2023.
First stage program:
Friday 5 August: Crystal Palace v Arsenal
Saturday 6 August: Bournemouth v Aston Villa, Everton v Chelsea, Fulham v Liverpool, Leeds United v Leverhampton, Leicester City v Brentford, Tottenham – Southampton.
Sunday 7 August: Manchester United v Brighton, West Ham v Manchester City.
