1- As part of the respectful bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic and at the kind invitation of His Excellency the President of the French Republic / Emmanuel Macron, His Royal Highness / Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, visited on an official visit to the French Republic from 28 to 30 December 1443 AH, which corresponds to 27-29 July 2022 AH, where His Highness met with the President of the French Republic. Emmanuel Macron, and at the beginning of the meeting, His Highness conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – God bless him – to His Excellency.
2- During the meeting, a session of official negotiations was held, at which the historical and strategic relations between the two countries, the ways of their development in all areas were considered, and an exchange of views took place on the general current regional and international situation.
3- Discussions included ways to deepen the investment partnership between the two countries by increasing the pace of investment and economic cooperation, expanding cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy, cooperation in the field of clean hydrogen, adherence to the principles of the Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement and the need to develop and implement climate agreements focusing on emissions rather than sources.

The discussions also touched upon the importance of resolving international disputes by diplomatic and peaceful means, observing the Charter of the United Nations, the principles of good neighborliness, respect for the unity and sovereignty of states, and non-interference in their internal affairs. affairs.
7. The French side commended the Kingdom’s efforts and support for the truce in Yemen, as well as the Kingdom’s appreciation for France’s support for UN efforts to achieve a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in line with the three references.

The talks discussed the support of the two countries for the sovereignty, security and stability of Lebanon, the importance of comprehensive political and economic reforms, expressed satisfaction with the work of the Saudi-French Foundation to support humanitarian activities and assistance in Lebanon. with the highest standards of transparency.
9. The talks concerned a convergence of views on the need to intensify efforts to achieve a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian question in accordance with the two-state solution, relevant resolutions with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, in such a way as to guarantee the Palestinian people their right to establish their own an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
10 – The talks stressed the importance of reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria that preserves the territorial integrity of Syria and the security of its people. He also touched upon international efforts aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, ensuring the peace of Iran’s nuclear program and calling on Iran to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency, to observe the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region.
