Companies move harness 5G tech in Agriculture, games

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) witnessed the latest advances in 5G and mobile technologies like next generation networks set in place through world.

A of Turkey leading information and communications technology Türk Telekom companies have signed an agreement with Huawei which will see the two working together on 5G-ready networks and quality network applications to develop industrial applications and improve the ecosystem with a strategic vision.

After the signing ceremony, Smart Tractor Systems, one of Agriculture 4.0 applications developed in Turkey with Tarnet, a technology subsidiary company of Turkish agricultural credit cooperatives and 5G tests of HADO, the version augmented reality game have been launched.

Türk Telekom, represented by Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan, and Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on TurkTech 2.0, which includes cooperation in 5G.

In the framework of of cooperation, “Smart Tractor Systems”, one of Agriculture 4.0 applications developed to increase productivity of agriculture, has been tested over 5G with the support of TARNET.

Moreover, the increase reality game HADO was also tested and seen two teams in different locations play this with the help of 5G connection.

Develop, test 5G technologies

In the framework of of this cooperation, Türk Telekom and Huawei will share their strategic vision to develop 5G-ready networks and quality network apps.

The companies are going test the digital transformation technologies for support 5G services and improve the user final experience. Also zero-carbon strategy will be developed for ensure maximum field energy gain.

” As the leading business of digital transformation in Turkey, we carry out all our work with Consciousness of national responsibility with our subsidiaries and our competent engineers in field of 5G,” said Ümit Önal, CEO of Turk Telekom.

“We are proud to be one of the world is leading operators as a company that produces, develops and adds value for industry and community. 5G and beyond technologies are necessary in transport, health, education, agriculture, entertainment and urbanization,” Önal noted.

He said they would improve 5G apps and ecosystem with the memorandum of understanding that the company has signed with Huawei.

“After completing the test process, we will implement these applications on our networks. In the framework of of 5G and beyond technologies developmentWe are happy to add a new milestone to our collaborations together with our valued partner Huawei”, Önal added.

Digital transformation projects

For his part, Huawei Turkey General Manager Jing Li stressed that their vision has always been to provide “value creation to our customers.

“We aim to improve our partnership to support local industry digital transformation via 5G technology. Türk Telekom has always been our strategic partner from the beginning of our trip in Turkey,” he said.

“From of the Huawei Turkey team I send you my sincere appreciation for their confidence. I am also pleased that this important partnership coincided with Huawei’s 20th year in Turkey. As always, we will continue our efforts to make more contribution for our customers and ICT (information and communications technology) ecosystem in Turkey.”

Autonomous tractor increasing productivity

In the framework of of the TurkTech 2.0 deal, an autopilot segment of “Smart Tractor Systems” have been implemented in Cooperation with Turk Telekom, Huawei and TARNET.

The totality system intended to help develop a local 5G industrial ecosystem in field of smart agriculture (Agriculture 4.0) and bring out apps in this field. It seeks to increase efficiency and profitability of agricultural sites.

the project saw a tractor driving through the field autonomously, supported by 5G network allowing more Precise and accurate farming operations.

By performing video analysis with the support of artificial intelligence, the farmer is instantly informed via 5G connected mobile application when anomalies are detected on the route of the tractor.

HADO played over 5G

In the framework of of 5G applications and collaboration, Türk Telekom and Huawei also introduces HADO, the augmented system reality techno-sports game known by its motto “Future Sports”.

With the help of increase reality glasses and wearable sensors, the game can be played between teams in different physique locations over 5G network.

The HADO game is considered a branch of sports as it is digital version of the “dodgeball” game.

the game was played with teams in different physique locations thanks to low latency and high bandwidth features of 5G. So the teams from different regions had the opportunity to play a match with each other without traveling and without leaving their own places.
