Today, His Excellency Deputy Minister of Sports Badr bin Abdulrahman Al Qadi opened the World Club Handball Super Globe 2022, which the Kingdom will host for the third time in a row, at the Ministry of Sports Hall in Dammam between October 18-23 with 12 clubs participating.
The opening ceremony, which was attended by the President of the International Handball Federation, Dr. Hassan Mustafa and the President of the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation, Fadel bin Ali Al-Nimr, as well as a number of leaders of the federations of the participating club countries, witnessed a visual laser show, as well as a number of different and varied paragraphs .
His Excellency Deputy Minister of Sports welcomed the teams participating in this global event in their second country by announcing the opening of the tournament, wishing them every success in holding a wonderful sporting event reflecting the great development of handball in the world.
The tournament is held according to the group system, in which the participating teams were divided into four groups, 3 teams each: the third group included the teams of Kielce (Poland), Kuwait (Kuwait) and Taobati (Brazil), and the fourth group included the teams of Barcelona , Spain, Minestros of Mexico and Esperance of Tunisia.
On the first day, the Brazilian team Taobati beat the team Kuwait-Kuwait in the first match of the tournament, 32-28 in the third group competition, and the German Magdeburg team managed to achieve their first victory over the Australian team Sydney, in the first group, the victory went to the Spanish team Barcelona. in the fourth group, the first team beat the Mexican team Minnestros 50–18, while Mudar lost their first match to the Egyptian team Al-Ahli 30–36 in the second group.
Championship matches continue tomorrow on the second day with four matches, where the Polish team Kisly will meet the team Kuwait-Kuwait at 12:15, and in the second meeting, which will start at 14:30, the Tunisian Esperance team will meet the Mexican team Minestros, while Saudi Arabia will play their first matches against the Australian team Sydney at 16:45, and tomorrow’s matches will end with the confrontation between the Saudi teams Mudara and the Portuguese Benfica at 7 pm. evening.
