The Egyptian armed forces prevented a terrorist attack at a water pumping station in the east of the Suez Canal, as a result of an armed confrontation, 11 soldiers were killed and several more were injured.
Colonel Arkan Harb Gharib Abdel Hafez, military spokesman for the Egyptian Armed Forces, said in a statement today that a group of terrorist elements attacked a rising water point east of the canal and a clash occurred that killed an officer and 10 recruits and injured five people, which indicates that these elements are being pursued and besieged them in one of the isolated areas in the Sinai.
