The Saudi Arabian Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen today signed a contract to operate and operate the Aden General Hospital in Aden Province as a continuation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support to the Yemeni people and government of Yemen in accordance with the directives of the Custodian. the two sacred mosques of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – for a fee of 330,537,081 Saudi Riyals to benefit more than 438,000 beneficiaries annually, and the operation will begin within 90 days. after the completion of the training of medical staff, testing of hospital equipment and the arrival of medicines and medical supplies.
The hospital will operate at 50% capacity during the first year due to the urgent need in Aden Governorate and its environs, on the condition that it operates at full capacity during the second year.
The project contract signing ceremony for the operation and management of Aden General Hospital, General Manager of SDRPY, was attended by Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, Minister of Health and Population Dr. Qassem Mohammed Buhaiba, representative of Al – Saad Group for Development and Investment, Assistant Program Controller General Engineer Hassan Al-Attas, and Chief Engineer Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Obeid, Director of Arab Operations at the Saudi Development Fund, at the Saudi Yemen Development and Reconstruction Program headquarters in Riyadh.
The project contributes to improving the performance of the health sector and improving the quality of services provided in and around Aden Governorate, and contributes to the health and well-being and health care services provided to Yemenis. people, in addition to expanding their access to treatment across all spectrums, ages and genders.
In addition to the cardiology center, the hospital includes 14 specialized clinics. Clinics in the hospital include: an eye clinic, a children’s clinic, a dermatology clinic, a dental clinic, an ear, nose and throat clinic, an orthopedic clinic, an internal medicine clinic, a reproductive health clinic, as well as endoscopy and physiotherapy room.
The area of Aden General Hospital is 20,000 square meters, it was equipped with 2,187 medical devices and equipment, 270 beds.
The project contributed to the provision of electricity through 5 transformers (3 main and 2 additional) with a capacity of 1600 kVA and transformers with a capacity of (11/0.4/0.23) volts 500 Hz, in addition to the provision of an emergency generator with a capacity of 1000 kVA and 5 generators with synchronous panel system.
The Aden General Hospital was established as a gift from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the brotherly people of Yemen, funded by the Saudi Development Fund, and supervised, operated and managed by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Development. and the Yemen Reconstruction Program.
SDRPY pays attention to the healthcare sector in Yemen as it has provided support to this important sector represented in 25 development projects and initiatives. SDRPY provided fully equipped ambulances to transport the wounded and critically ill patients in need of medical attention to the governorates of Marib, Socotra, Hadhramawt, Hajja and Al-Jawf.
