The English Premier League has decided to observe the fasting of Muslim players during the matches of the holy month of Ramadan.
And the Sky Sports network said the league has asked referees at all levels of the league to allow players to break their fast during evening matches during the holy month of Ramadan.
She added: “Referees have been instructed to stop matches and allow players to break their fast while taking liquids, gels or nutritional supplements.”
She explained that the referees should be informed before the start of the match if any of the players might need breakfast during the match and if a specific time could be agreed upon.
And she continued: “Many of the Premier League’s top players are expected to starve, led by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, Manchester City striker Riyad Mahrez and Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.”
And the British network concluded: “Players will refrain from eating and drinking during daylight hours, and breakfast should be after sunset.”
