European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen supported Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and called for its integration into all EU areas.
In an interview with Euronews, von der Leyen said: “Ukraine is involved in some European processes, such as the integration of the Ukrainian market into the EU single market. We cooperate very closely in energy and other areas.” said.
“In time Ukraine should join the European Union, this country is one of us and we want to see it in the European family,” he added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced at dawn last Thursday that a special military operation was launched in southeastern Ukraine to protect Donbass.
