The President of the Arab Parliament, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights, Adel bin Abd al-Rahman al-Asumi, stressed the importance of expanding the areas of coordination and cooperation in the future with the European Agency for Human Rights. This happened during a session where Al-Asumi had extensive discussions with a delegation from the European Border and Coast Guard Agency; At the headquarters of the Arab Parliament in Cairo, they discussed how to deal with immigration and asylum issues, especially regarding the issue of combating illegal immigration, and opening reliable legal channels to resolve this issue in light of the high waves of displacement and migration that the world is currently witnessing. .
The two sides agreed, according to a parliamentary statement, to continue their joint efforts, especially with regard to border and border security, to develop the capacity of Arab personnel interested in this field, and to raise public awareness of the problem of illegal immigration in light of the heavy economic burden that some countries bear in as a result of the deployment of millions of refugees on their lands.
