The Saudi Arabian Volleyball Federation has announced its tournament and competition program for the 2022-2023 sports season, where the Federation’s Technical Committee and competitions have set a launch date of Thursday 19 Safar 1444 AH, corresponding to 15 September 2022 CE. provided that the competition schedule for all groups will be announced later, these are the Premier League, First Class, Youth Division and Junior Division, as well as the Elite Cup and the Fed Cup, which are held at the end of the sports season.
There are 12 teams in the Premier League, these are (Al Ahli, Al Hilal, Al Faisali, Al Taraji, Al Ittihad, Al Wahda, Damak, Al Ibtisam, Al Khalij, Al Nasr, Abha and Al Yarmouk) in a two-role league system, and the team with the most wins wins first place and crowns the league title. Of the two rounds, the first and second place winners qualify for the Premier League, with eighth places relegated to the Regionalliga.
The Premier League will be played at youth and junior levels with 12 clubs.
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly last season won the adult Premier League and crowned Abha with the title of the first division, while Al-Khuwaildiyya won the Youth and Youth League championship.
