The al-Arabiya Net images showed the area that witnessed the US raid that killed al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.
The circulated photographs showed Al-Zawahiri’s house, which was hit by a US drone on Sunday, according to two US officials.
For its part, the New York Times reported that the house where al-Zawahiri was staying belonged to a top aide to Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban interior minister.
At the same time, the Washington Post newspaper reports that al-Zawahiri was in a house in the diplomatic district of the capital.
The Taliban interior ministry said the raid took place in the Sherpur district of the capital Kabul after 6 am on Sunday.
While US media reported on the killing of al-Zawahiri in a US raid in Afghanistan, the White House on Monday called it a “successful” operation against a “important target” in Afghanistan.
The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CNN were among the US media outlets that revealed the identity of the target, citing unnamed sources.
