His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today attended the 49th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held in Nouakchott, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, under the slogan: “Moderation and moderation are the valve of security and stability “. session and commended the efforts made by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan during its presidency of the last session.
His Highness said: “This meeting comes after the International Day Against (Islamophobia) which raises awareness of the dangers of intolerance towards Islam.”
His Highness the Foreign Minister announced the Kingdom’s desire to host an international conference on women in Islam to demonstrate their Sharia rights and reaffirm their active role.
His Highness expressed the Kingdom’s solidarity and sincere condolences to the brothers in Syria and Turkey for the human and material losses caused by the earthquake, pointing to the Kingdom’s efforts to mitigate the consequences of this disaster by sending urgent assistance and organizing a popular campaign for the benefit of the victims.
He called on the international community to play its part in stopping the violations by the Israeli occupying forces of the Palestinian people and undermine the chances of reviving the peace process.
His Highness said: “The Kingdom continues to support the affairs of the Islamic world at the humanitarian and development levels. Secretary General to Afghanistan to carry out his duties,” adding: “The success of his efforts largely depends on the support of the SCO member states, other countries and international organizations,” he said.
His Highness added: “The Kingdom believes in the importance of the bonds of religion and neighborhood that unite us, and always reaches out to dialogue and resolve differences through peaceful means. From this point of view, it spends more than two years. , several rounds of dialogue with the brothers in Iran, both in Baghdad and Muscat, and then recently in Beijing. The culmination of these negotiations was an agreement on the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries based on respect for the principles and objectives of the UN Charter and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, primarily respect for the sovereignty of states, non-interference in their internal affairs, good neighborliness and the resolution of differences through dialogue. We hope that this agreement will enhance security and stability in the Gulf region and support the process of joint Islamic action.
