The Palestinians will have an entity in the future instead of a state, said Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
“Eventually we will meet again in a two-entity solution, in that we respect Palestinian sovereignty and governance, but we will be respected for our security needs,” Gantz said at the Munich Security Conference this week.
Asked by moderators to clarify son choice of words by using “entity” instead of “state,” said Gantz, a “two-state solution takes us has a former framework. It’s a phrase that gives the illusion of (a throwback to) 1967 with borders…things that can’t happen.”
“That’s why I talked about a two-entity solution,” Gantz said. “We would check with one another one how we can ensure Palestinian rights on one main while preserving Israel’s security needs on The other.”
the defense minister said Palestinians and Israelis “cannot ignore” each other’s existence, pointing to the need for both parties to “take historic steps decisions” and ” find ways of living with one another one” in a way which reflects “the realities on ground.”
