German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock urged UN human rights office to publish a report he prepared on the situation of the Uyghur Muslim minority in China.
Baerbock said in a video address to the 47-nation Human Rights Council in Geneva than the global body Needs “more transparency.”
“We encourage the High Commissioner (for human rights) to publish your report on the detention of members of the muslim uyghur community – and U.S call on Beijing to allow unimpeded access,” she says.
Diplomats in Geneva said the report on the situation in China’s western province of Xinjiang is ready – or very close – for month.
