Olivier Giroud became France’s historic goalscorer, scoring a goal in the current match between his country and his Polish counterpart in the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Giroud, 36, increased his tally to 52 goals in his 117th international appearance to win the title of France’s historic goalscorer after he shared the record with Thierry Henry (51 goals).
The Milan striker also increased his tally to 3 goals in the World Cup as he scored two goals in France’s 4-1 victory over Australia in the first round of Group D.
Thierry Henry has 51 goals for France in 123 matches between 1997 and 2010.
