Good Burger 2: A Nostalgic Blast from the Past

Paramount+ has just announced the sequel to the beloved ’90s movie Good Burger. Based on the popular sketch from Nickelodeon’s All That, Good Burger 2 brings back familiar faces and promises to deliver a hilarious and nostalgic experience. Fans cannot contain their excitement with the official artwork now unveiled and a late fall release date set.

Return of the All-Time Favorites

In this long-awaited sequel, we will see the return of beloved characters Dexter Reed, played by the talented Kenan Thompson, and Ed, the iconic Good Burger cashier, portrayed by the hilarious Kel Mitchell. The dynamic duo finds themselves back at Good Burger in the present day alongside a new, quirky group of employees, adding an exciting twist to the mix.

A Worthy Production

Produced by Nickelodeon Studios, the highly anticipated Good Burger 2 will debut just in time for the holiday season on Wednesday, November 22, exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada. But fret not. Viewers in the UK and Australia can catch it a day later, on Thursday, November 23, 2023, on Paramount+.

Star-Studded Cast

Good Burger 2 boasts an exceptional ensemble cast. Joining Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are acclaimed actors such as Lil Rel Howery (Get Out) as Cecil McNevin, Jillian Bell (Murder Mystery 2) as Katt Boswell, Kamaia Fairburn (Blockbuster) as Mia, Alex R. A Nostalgic Blast from the Past

Before we dive into Good Burger 2, let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit the roots of this cult classic. The iconic ’90s sketch premiered on All That in 1994, revolving around the comical adventures at the Good Burger fast-food joint. It introduced the endearingly oblivious cashier, Ed, played by the talented Kel Mitchell. The sketch gained immense popularity, sparking the release of the feature film Good Burger on July 25, 1997, courtesy of Paramount Pictures.

The original film followed the misadventures of Dexter Reed, a high school student portrayed by Kenan Thompson, who finds himself working at Good Burger to pay for damages he caused. Dexter gets caught up in the restaurant’s eccentric and chaotic world alongside Ed. Things take a hilarious turn when Mondo Burger, a rival fast-food chain run by the conniving Kurt (Jan Schweiterman), threatens Good Burger’s existence. Amidst chaos and absurdity, Dexter and Ed must save their beloved joint from the clutches of Mondo Burger.

The Success Continues

Good Burger remained a popular film among children and teenagers in the late ’90s and has since garnered a cult following. The impact of this movie was so significant that it prompted Kel Mitchell to return to the role of Ed in the 2019 All That revival series. After twenty years, Ed had climbed the ranks and become the seasoned manager of Good Burger, offering fans a delightful surprise and a taste of nostalgia.

Mark Your Calendars

The wait is almost over. Good Burger 2 is set to premiere on Wednesday, November 22, exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada. Prepare for a hilarious and heartwarming journey as our beloved characters navigate comical situations and deliver endless laughter. For fans in the UK and Australia, mark your calendars for Thursday, November 23, 2023, and get ready to indulge in this highly-anticipated sequel. The holiday season just got a whole lot better with Good Burger 2.
