On Saturday from August 23 to September 8, the second round of the group stage of the 2022 Arab Junior Championships, which will be held in the Algerian city of Oran, ended.
Saudi Arabia beat Syria 4-3 in Group D at Mostaganem Stadium.
Al-Akhdar’s goals were scored by Ammar Al-Yakhibi, Muhammad Hazazi, Talal Haji and Nawaf Al-Bishri, while the Syrian team’s goals were scored by Kawa Issa (two goals) and Anas Dahan.
In the same group and at Al Siq Stadium, Egypt defeated Lebanon 9-0.
Egypt were scored by Ahmed Mohamed, Omar Hamdin (two each), Ibrahim Mohamed, Mabrouk Mohamed, Hossam Abdel Karim, Ali Riyadh, Omar Syed Moawad and Hisham Haddad.
With these results, Egypt’s lead rises to 6 points and tops the Group D standings, followed by Saudi Arabia with 3 points and then Syria and Lebanon with one point each.
Morocco defeated Mauritania 1-0 in Group C at the Al Siq Stadium with a goal from Mohamed Arshidi.
And in the same group and at the Mostaganem Stadium, Iraq won 2-1 over the Comoros.
Ali Akbar Al-Daraji scored two goals for Iraq, while Seif El-Din Ahmed scored Comoros’ goal.
With these results, Iraq leads the group standings with 6 points, followed by Morocco and the Comoros with 3 points, then Mauritania with no credit.
On Sunday, the teams will have a negative rest, and on Monday and Tuesday the matches of the third and final round of the group stage will take place.
