The delegation of the first women’s futsal team will travel today to the sister State of Kuwait to participate in the third Gulf Games 2022 from the fifteenth to the twenty-fourth of this month, and will meet in their first confrontation with the national team of Bahrain on the 15th of this month. The second meeting will take place against Kuwait on the 17th of the same month, and two days later he will face his counterpart from the UAE.
This is the second participation in the history of the first national futsal team, as it was the first participation in the sixth session of the women’s sports of the Gulf in 2019, with Al-Akhdar finishing in third place.
For her part, Saudi Arabian Football Association board member and director of women’s football department Lamia Bin Bahian confirmed that the women’s futsal team seeks to provide a decent level through this participation and strive to achieve positive results. noting the importance that this participation reflects the development and growth of football, women in the Kingdom and sister countries of the Gulf in the recent period.
For her part, the General Supervisor of the Women’s National Teams, Alia Al Rashid, explained that the preparations for this participation took place in accordance with the structure and plan on which the technical staff was based. It was carried out in three stages, starting with the performance. tests to select players and call them up to the national team, then the stage of Riyadh and Jeddah, which continued throughout the holy month of Ramadan, and finally the training camp, in the program of which two friendly matches were played against the Croatian national team, emphasizing that two matches prepared the team for participation in this tournament.
