The Sudanese Revolutionary Forces actively engaged with the joint declaration of their unification as the number of unified entities rose to 52 in less than 24 hours after its adoption, including 9 of the 16 Khartoum State Resistance Committees, in addition to the Freedom Forces. and Smena – Central Council, as well as a group of a large number of civil and professional organizations.
The resistance committees for the revival of Khartoum-Bahri, which led the initiative, said that the rallying of forces against the 25 October measures around the declaration was “expected” as it represents the common basis and core for the unity of the Sudanese Revolution’s strength.
On Tuesday, 36 Sudanese entities signed a joint declaration to “combine the forces of the revolution,” which observers called “surprising” in light of the current state of fragmentation.
The declaration stated that a way out of the worsening crisis in the country “can be achieved only by ending military rule.”
According to Bahri Mohamed Gad El-Sayed, a member of the Khartoum Areas Coordinating Committee, the move “came to a sense of great danger faced by the country after the October 25 procedures”, referring to the army’s actions to exclude the civilian component from the transitional government. Jad al-Sayed pointed out in a press statement to “artificial tribal violence that has affected several regions of the country over the past few days.”
He stated that “the purpose of the call for the unification of the forces of the revolution is to prevent the country from sliding into dangerous consequences, and to mobilize efforts to bypass the charter for the establishment of people’s power, which resistance committees and a number of actors are working to sign”, noting that “the call found a great response.
