Hunter Biden Excluded from State Dinner Amidst Backlash for Attending Others Despite Ongoing Legal Issues

Hunter Biden Not Invited to State Dinner Amid Ongoing Legal Issues

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, was noticeably absent from the guest list for Wednesday’s state dinner honoring Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. This comes after Hunter faced backlash for attending previous state dinners while facing legal issues and investigations into his international business dealings.

Previous State Dinner Attendance

Hunter Biden had previously attended two state dinners despite being at the center of a federal investigation into his business dealings and tax affairs. One of these dinners took place on June 22 and honored Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while the other was held on December 1 for French President Emmanuel Macron.

Controversy Surrounding Hunter Biden

Hunter Biden’s attendance at the June 22 dinner sparked controversy as it coincided with the announcement of a plea deal he had struck with federal prosecutors. The deal included misdemeanor tax crimes and a diversion agreement on a felony gun charge, but it later fell apart.

Attorney General Merrick Garland, who has faced scrutiny over his handling of the investigation into Hunter, also attended the state dinner in honor of Modi.

While some defended Hunter’s attendance, including Senator Amy Klobuchar, others criticized his presence, arguing that it was inappropriate given his legal troubles.

Legal Troubles and Charges

Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges in federal court, including making false statements related to the purchase of a firearm and possession of a firearm while being an unlawful user of a controlled substance. If convicted on all counts, he could face up to 25 years in prison and hefty fines.

Amid ongoing legal issues and probes, Hunter Biden was not invited to the state dinner for Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. While his family members were on the guest list, Hunter’s absence reflects the controversy surrounding his previous attendance at state dinners and the scrutiny he faces due to his international business dealings and legal troubles.
