Today, Sunday, the two semi-final matches of the 2022 Arab Futsal Cup organized by the Saudi Arabian Football Association and hosted by the Arab Football Federation will be held at the Ministry of Sports Hall in Dammam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Morocco will face Egypt and Iraq will play Kuwait in the semi-finals, with the final taking place next Tuesday.
The Moroccan team advanced to the semi-finals after beating Libya 3-0 to face Egypt, who defeated Mauritania 3-2, while Iraq advanced to the same round with a 3-3 victory over Saudi Arabia: 2 to face Team Kuwait who beat Palestine 4-1 on penalties after regular and extra time ended with a positive 4-4 draw.
On the other hand, press conferences were held last night for the coaches of Morocco, Egypt, Iraq and Kuwait, where they talked about the latest preparations for the semi-final matches.
He said: “As we expected, the tournament turned out to be very pleasant and strong, and it is the best in terms of organization. We are waiting for a difficult match against a strong team of Egypt. we played a lot of matches in the last period.”
For his part, the general coach of the Egyptian national team, Nader Al-Rashadi, said that the current version of the Arab Futsal Cup is one of the strongest versions, during which the participating teams demonstrated a strong and excellent level.
He added: “The Egyptian team is ready for this match, although our preparation before the tournament was not enough. There are very high level players in the Moroccan team, but we are playing on behalf of Egypt and that is enough to ensure a positive outcome.”
Iraqi coach Muhammad Nazim al-Sharia said that the semi-finals require more concentration, stressing that “the players will do their best”.
And he concluded: “We will face great difficulties due to two additional games against the team of Saudi Arabia in the quarter-finals, but the team of Kuwait also went through the same conditions against the team of Palestine.”
For his part, Kuwait coach Ricardo Cacao said: “The Iraqi team has great potential and a coach who has added a lot to futsal in the region”, noting that “player Abdul Rahman Al-Taweel is ready for this match. despite his injury, the situation with player Abdulaziz Al-Bassam was unclear.”
He concluded by saying, “Kuwaiti fans love futsal and that’s the reason I love the sport in Kuwait and I promise them the players will be as good as they think.”
The organizing committee of the championship held a preparatory meeting for the two semi-final matches under the leadership of the head of the committee, Mr. Jamal Allam, during which the reports of the committees for the last eight matches were reviewed, as well as preparations for the two semi-final matches scheduled for today, Sunday, were reviewed.
A coordination and preparatory meeting for the two semi-final matches was also held, during which the lists of players and the colors of the team jerseys were approved.
