The second live debate between Conservative Party leadership contenders Liz Trace and Rishi Sunak came to an abrupt end on Tuesday, moments after an off-camera explosion rang out in the studio.
The live debate, hosted by Talk TV and the British newspaper The Sun, aired Terrace’s answer to a question from an audience member, and the broadcast cut off a few seconds after he heard the loud explosion, and Terrace was visibly upset.
It was subsequently revealed that the interruption of the live debate was caused by TalkTV political editor Kate McCann suddenly collapsing.
The two Conservative leadership contenders expressed their relief to learn that he was “all right”.
TalkTV, the organizer of the debate, along with The Sun apologized for ending the debate after the sudden incident.
