Barcelona president Joan Laporta has opened the door for Argentine star Lionel Messi, who will return to the Blue Garnet in the future following his departure last summer to Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking to ESPN, Laporta said: “I don’t think Messi’s story with Barcelona is over. It remains open to possibilities and we have a responsibility to make sure this story ends better than it did.”
He added: “I’m not happy with the way Messi left Barcelona,” reports Spanish sports newspaper Marca.
Laporta continued: “Because of my position as president of Barcelona, I think I did what I had to do with Messi leaving, but on a personal level, I am indebted to him.”
Messi joined Saint Germain last summer on a free transfer after the Catalan club failed to renew his contract.
Messi scored 11 goals in 34 games in his first season with the French club after joining from Barcelona, where the 35-year-old has spent his entire career scoring 672 goals in 778 games and winning a series of titles. .
