The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in cooperation with the Center for Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training for Islamic Countries “SESRIC”, will hold a seminar – through visual communication technology – to empower national institutions working in the field of social development, from 2 to 4 August at the SESRIC headquarters in Ankara.
Representatives of national institutions involved in the empowerment of the institution of marriage and family, child care, protection of the elderly and people with special needs, empowerment and integration of people with disabilities in member states and bodies and institutions of the organization, as well as specialists from international organizations cooperating with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in this field will take part in the seminar.
The workshop will provide an opportunity to share experiences and best practices among Member States to address social development challenges.
The workshop will feature presentations on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s strategy to empower the institution of marriage and the family, the organization’s strategy to protect the elderly, and the organization’s draft action plan to empower and include people with disabilities, in addition to the opportunities provided by bodies of institutions of the organization and partner institutions to the relevant national institutions to finance social development projects.
