An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale hit east of the Kazakh city of Almaty today. A German news agency said the quake struck at 08:55 local time 43 km east of Almaty at a depth of 5 km.
This morning, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck near the China-Kazakhstan border.
