Canadian police said two people, including a police officer, were killed and three others injured in a series of shootings in southeastern Ontario on Monday evening.
Police said a gunman shot and killed a police officer at close range in what police called an “unprovoked attack” in the city of Mississauga, west of Toronto, and another man was injured in Mississauga. and two others were injured.
A 30-year-old man suspected of involvement in both incidents stole a Jeep and fled the scene before being found in Hamilton, south of Toronto, according to police.
Police said that after being chased, the suspect was shot and arrested before his death was later announced.
According to reports, the victim in Mississauga suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and two injured in Milton, one in critical condition and the other in serious condition.
