The United States expressed concern over reports of civilian deaths in the Amhara community in Ethiopia’s Oromia region this weekend.
In a press statement today, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price called on all Ethiopians to renounce violence and engage in peaceful dialogue to resolve differences, stressing that national reconciliation must include comprehensive and inclusive justice for the victims and accountability for those responsible for human rights violations.
Price stressed that such constant messages underline the urgency of ending the armed conflict in Ethiopia.
