The King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs 2023

Taif, Abha, and Al Baha in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are gearing up for the launch of the King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs 2023 organized by the Arab Football Association and hosted by the Saudi Federation between 27 July and 12 August with 16 clubs participating.

Exciting Matches on the First Day

In the second match, the Tunisian team Sfaxien will face the Iraqi police at the King Fahd Sports City stadium in Taif at 6 pm, followed by the Libyan team Al-Ahly Tripoli and the Saudi team Al-Hilal at exactly 8 pm at the Prince Sultan Sports City stadium in Abha.

At the end of the first day’s matches, the Tunisian team Esperance and the Saudi team Al Ittihad will meet at the King Fahd Sports City stadium in Taif at exactly ten o’clock in the evening.

Groups and Teams

The first group included the Tunisian Esperance, the Tunisian Sfaxien, the Iraqi police, and the Saudi Al-Ittihad. The second group consists of the Moroccan Vidad teams, the Libyan Al-Ahli Tripoli, the Saudi Al-Hilal, and the Qatari Al-Sadd. The third group comprises the Tunisian Monastir Union, the Saudi youth, the Egyptian Zamalek, and Saudi ovsky “Victor”. In the fourth group, we have the Algerian youth clubs “Beluizdad”, Kuwait Kuwait, the unity of the Emirates, and the Moroccan rajah.

A Rich History of Club Championships

The Club Championships represent one of the most important and prominent competitions of the Arab Football Association and have attracted the attention of Arab football fans on a grand scale since its inception in 1982 when the Arab Club Championship was held with 9 different names.

Arab Club Champions League Championship

The competition was launched for the first time in history in 1982 under the name “Arab Club Champions League”, of which 17 editions were held and continued until 2001.

The first edition was held in Iraq, and the Iraqi police team took first place. The second edition was held in Saudi Arabia in 1984, and the Saudi Al-Ittifaq team managed to crown the title. Iraq returned to host the third edition competition in 1985, and the title was crowned by the Iraqi Al-Rashid team.

Continued Success and Exciting Matches

The Club Championships continued to be held in various countries, with each edition witnessing fierce competition and memorable matches. From Saudi Arabia to Qatar, Tunisia to Egypt, and Morocco to the UAE, different clubs from across the Arab world showcased their skills and determination to win the prestigious title.

Throughout the years, clubs such as Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Wydad Casablanca, and Tunisian Sfaxien have emerged as champions, leaving an indelible mark in the history of Arab club football.

Arab Club Champions Cup

From 1989 to 2002, twelve editions of the tournament were held under the title “Arab Club Cup Winners”. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosted the first competition in 1989, and the Tunisian stadium crowned the title.

Each edition of the Arab Club Champions Cup brought new excitement and surprises, with different clubs showcasing their skills and competing for the coveted trophy.
