Yesterday, the State of Kuwait strongly condemned the assault on the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupying forces.
Kuwait’s position was formulated during the speech of the Acting Chargé d’affaires of the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations, Minister Plenipotentiary Badr Al-Munaih, before the session of the UN Security Council, open to discussion of the Middle East region, including the Palestinian issue.
Al-Munaih said: “The international community is following with great concern the dangerous escalation that the Palestinian territories have witnessed as a result of the crimes and attacks perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people. We are all watching with regret the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupying forces a few days ago attacked believers.
He explained that the State of Kuwait once again strongly condemns the Israeli occupying forces’ assault on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacks on believers and all defenseless civilians, seeing these attacks as provoking the feelings of Muslims and undermining religious freedom at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to play their part in holding the Israeli occupying forces fully responsible for the consequences of the continuation of such crimes and illegal and provocative actions in Jerusalem and Haram al-Sharif, as well as for the violations of the defenseless Palestinian people, its lands and shrines, and the importance of collective action to intensify international efforts to restore global calm and focus on the possibilities of restoring peace in the Middle East.
