The Committee on Education, Culture and Leadership in the State of Kuwait discussed at its meeting today the instruction of the National Assembly to the committee regarding the mechanisms used by the Ministry of Education in combating the phenomenon of fraud and the measures taken against those involved in it. and arrested. The head of the committee, spokesman Dr. Hamad Al-Matar, said in a statement at the National Assembly Media Center that he had submitted a request, which he signed. a phenomenon that has become a social culture. Al-Matar called on His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed al-Nawaf, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Hamad al-Advani to attend the special session and respond to the call of the nation to discuss the phenomenon of fraud that will destroy the entire society.
Al-Matar said that the Minister of Education was supposed to be present at the committee meeting today, noting that he felt pain and left the committee meeting. He was surprised that the Deputy Minister of Education said they hadn’t noticed the scam for five years and that they took action and sent a letter to the Home Office after the issue surfaced on social media.
Al-Matar added that the Deputy Minister of Education also said at the meeting that they are in the process of developing a list of scams as a result of an update that happens in cases of scams even though smartphones were everywhere. for more than ten years, and that the change in the percentage of successful students, which exceeded 98%, has been occurring for more than 3 years. Al-Matar said that the Prime Minister, who issues a decree appointing the heads of the Ministry of Education, is obliged to dismiss all the heads of the Ministry of Education, stressing that this is the least appropriate for the scale of the crime, since the leaders in the ministry do not know the assessment of the problem, they have no vision, they did not take initiatives and spoke briefly.
Al-Matar mentioned that there have been attempts at cheating in recent years, but it has turned into a phenomenon and culture of the society, pointing out that now the student asks the teacher why he did not allow him to cheat. And the cases of infidelity have reached over 40,000 cases of infidelity, and we have also reached the stage where some parents are now cheating on their children.
Al-Matar warned that this culture is capable of destroying Kuwaiti society and molding the minds of students without any fairness and equality, and the leadership of the Ministry of Education, represented by the minister, is powerless in the face of this problem. Al-Matar explained that he submitted a request for a special session in the first week of next February, and it was signed by 10 MPs who wanted the presence of the prime minister and the minister of education and responded to the wishes of the nation.
Al-Matar indicated that there is a proposal for a law submitted by Representative Dr. Abdul-Karim Al-Kandari, highlighting the Committee’s ability to submit a report on fraud to the National Assembly in accordance with the proposal submitted by Dr. Abdul-Karim Al. -Kandari when the leaders failed to solve the problem, and the committee will present its report on this proposal in the first week of February. Al Matar emphasized the need for people to fight this corruption that has reached our children, calling on the next government to consider this file as a priority, indicating that any cooperation will be with the prime minister in accordance with how he deals with this training file.
