Today, Sunday, the Lebanese army found 8 bodies in the Mediterranean off Tripoli after a ship with 60 people sank, according to the National News Agency.
The Lebanese authorities announced that the girl’s body was recovered and more than 40 people were rescued by boat.
Public Works and Transport Minister Ali Hamieh called the incident “a great catastrophe that has hit all of Lebanon.”
He stressed that search operations are still ongoing to rescue the rest of the missing passengers who were on board the boat.
