Mohamed Salah covered his mouth during Guardiola’s response, with Cassidy making it clear that the latter was talking about the referee’s decision to cancel Phil Foden’s goal.
Guardiola responded to Salah: “You too?” Who cares? It’s very clear. Which indicates that the two men were talking about the canceled City goal after Norwegian striker Erling Haaland made contact with Brazilian Fabinho.
The defeat took Manchester City, champions of the last two editions, to second place, four points behind leaders Arsenal, while Liverpool reached their 13th point, one game behind.
