The forces of the Luhansk People’s Republic announced the liberation of the towns of Novokhtyrka and Smolyaninovo from the control of the Ukrainian army, according to a statement published in the “Telegram”.
“People’s forces continue to liberate the occupied Kiev lands. On February 27, defense units liberated the towns of Novoakhtyrka and Smolyaninovo from the Ukrainian armed forces,” the statement said.
President of the Lugansk People’s Republic Leonid Pasichnik said earlier in the day that Ukrainian forces, withdrawing from the republic’s towns, destroyed everything in their path, set fire to buildings and planted mines in the area.
