Barcelona’s Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has experienced moments of real horror as his wife after his home in the Catalan city was brutally robbed.
Spanish newspaper El Pais reported that four masked men broke into Aubameyang’s home, robbed him, beat him and threatened him with a firearm.
The masked men threatened the Gabonese player’s wife and seized a lot of jewelry from the player’s house.
In turn, the Catalan newspaper Sport reported that the kidnappers handcuffed Aubameyang and his wife and threw them on the ground for about an hour.
After they completed the armed robbery, the masked men fled Aubameyang’s home in a luxury Audi car, amid reports confirming the player and his wife were in good health hours after the incident.
The incident comes at a time when Aubameyang’s future at his club Barcelona is shrouded in mystery.
Chelsea’s talks to sign Aubameyang have stalled, according to press reports, while Barcelona are trying to sell some of their players to avoid violating the Spanish League’s financial fair play rules.
