At a time when Lebanese social media sites were circulating information accusing the son of Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s sister of killing a citizen in the Batroun district in a traffic accident that occurred a few weeks ago, the press office of President Najib Mikati rushed to issue an official Thursday’s statement denied the veracity of the news.
He emphasized: “We deny any connection between members of the President’s family in this unfortunate incident or in any matter related to the perpetrator and the investigation of the case,” and added that “this matter is subject to investigation by the security service.” under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.”
Najib Mikati’s press office expressed “surprise at the inclusion of his name in the incident and expressed regret that this painful incident, which resulted in the injury of one of the citizens, was used to settle political scores,” the statement said.

And Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s office announced last week that it had taken legal action “against people who launched a programmed campaign against him and his family.”
In an official statement, Mikati said “these people are ‘known unknowns’ and they are spreading rumors and lies amid the customs dollar and the formation of a new government.”
Najib Mikati confirmed in a statement: “He and his family have instructed the law firm to take the necessary legal action against the instigators and those involved in this campaign.”
