Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad confirmed on Tuesday that her country’s government does not interfere with the wages and personal accounts of Egyptians living at home or abroad. deduct any part of Egyptian expatriates’ wages or their personal transfers. He said: “His proposal for Egyptians abroad is not binding, but rather as a way to return favor and loyalty to a state that they have not been late with throughout history, which willingly testifies to their national position.”

The latest official reports show that remittances from Egyptians working abroad fell by 20.9% in the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2022/2023 to a record $6.4 billion compared to $8.1 billion in the same period last year. financial year. Egyptians’ overseas remittances, which totaled $32 billion in the fiscal year ending June 2022, are one of the state’s most important resources for providing hard currency.
