The new Superman from DC Studios will not only be younger than the one played by Henry Cavill but even younger than most people thought.
When it was announced that Henry Cavill wouldn’t be playing Superman anymore, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn gave an idea of what he and Peter Safran had in mind for the hero.
Then, on January 31, Gunn and Peter Safran not only announced “DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters,” but they also said that their Superman movie, “Superman: Legacy,” would be “the beginning of the DCU.”
Fans and critics are still going through the many announcements, and one of the details about Superman was a surprise.
How Young is DC’s New Superman?
The new Superman from DC Studios is younger than some fans expected.
Man of Steel’s age in Superman: Legacy has been discussed since Gunn and Safran said their movie wouldn’t be an origin story and would also not star Cavill.
The Hollywood Reporter says the new Clark Kent in the DCU will likely be around 25 years old.
Henry Cavill will turn 40 later this year so that you know.
This makes sense since Superman: Legacy isn’t about the hero’s childhood and teen years. Fans thought it would be in the late 20s or early 30s, but it’s still younger.
Collider said that James Gunn talked about Superman’s age and where he was in his life, saying, “He’s working. He’s a reporter, but he also says that the new Batman might be “a couple of years older than Superman:.”
