The American newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” reported that the USA plans to close its airspace to Russian planes.
According to the newspaper, this decision could be announced within the next 24 hours.
Earlier today, Portugalin A Russian passenger plane bound for the island of Madeira had to turn back after it was announced that European airspace was closed to Russian aviation.
This Ural Airlines flight was supposed to take a group of Russian tourists home.
Germany, Belgium, Italy, France and Luxembourg have closed their airspaces to Russian airlines in response to Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
These countries joined Poland, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Bulgaria, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Moldova and the United Kingdom.
Earlier, Russia announced that it closed its airspace to aircraft of countries that restrict the movement of civil aviation in their airspace.
