North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced his intention to further strengthen his regime’s nuclear capability during a military parade earlier this week in downtown Pyongyang, according to an official media report on Tuesday.
During a speech commemorating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army on Monday, Kim Jong-un vowed to build up the country’s nuclear capability “at the fastest pace,” North Korea’s Central News Agency (KCNA), the official Yonhap news agency, said.
He emphasized that Pyongyang would make comprehensive preparations for the use of nuclear “deterrence” at any moment, and warned that any forces seeking military confrontation would cease to exist.
