The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the massive shelling by illegal Armenian armed groups on August 3 of the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the territory of Azerbaijan. The General Secretariat called on the Republic of Armenia to fulfill its obligations in accordance with the tripartite statement signed between Azerbaijan, Armenia and the Russian Federation on November 10, 2020, and to withdraw illegal armed groups from the territory of Azerbaijan.
Referring to the decision of the forty-eighth session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad on March 22-23, 2022, he also called for the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia based on mutual recognition and respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and borders, recognized by each party at the international level.
