The national team under 23 will open its matches in the “fourth” group of the 2022 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan on Friday.
The Greens will meet with the national team of Tajikistan at 6 pm Saudi time at the stadium of the Lokomotiv club in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
At field level, the national team players had a training session tonight at the Railway Institute stadium under the guidance of technical director Saad Al Shehri and assistant technical staff, during which they applied tactical training, and then practiced how to set the balls.
For his part, the coach of the national team, Saad Al-Shehri, at a press conference held today, explained that the Greens group in the Asian Cup is technically difficult, indicating that they seek to impose a personality. The Saudi Arabian team started from the first match against Tajikistan.
He emphasized their readiness for the tournament in every way and they have a clear goal to return to the Kingdom with gold by finishing second in the last edition of the tournament, which indicates that there is no weak group in it. Asian Cup, in particular the “Green” group, which includes technically distinguished teams, noting that all 16 teams are ready and their concentration on achieving their goals is very high.
While the captain of the national team, Saud Abdul Hamid, praised during the press conference the good rapport between him and his fellow players, pointing out that they know each other well on a technical level from the reality of their playing together in many advantages, emphasizing the desire and great motivation to present an honorable level worthy of the name of the Kingdom by reaching the title.
