HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports and Head of the Diriyah Season, opened the activities of the second Diriyah Season 2022, which will run until 22 February 2023 AD, in a ceremony held today. – in Turaif District, in the presence of His Highness Prince Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman, Governor of Diriyah and HE Minister of Tourism Mr. Ahmed bin Aqil Al-Khatib.
The opening ceremony included many live performances, as well as the announcement of a package of international sports competitions and various entertainment and cultural events that will take place in historic Diriyah over the course of 4 months.
His Highness the Minister of Sports, Season President Diria, in his speech during the ceremony, noted the support and interest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – God bless them – in the global events that the Kingdom is witnessing, emphasizing that this support and attention have given them all the ingredients for success and the potential for excellence, while indicating at the same time that Diria Historic Site will witness many quality developments, stemming from the roots of originality, as a permanent global destination for excellence and dazzle, and in a place that carries a long heritage in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
For her part, Season Manager Mai Al-Khilabi, in her speech at the opening ceremony, spoke about the most important sports tournaments that will take place in the Diriyah 2022 season, including the Longines World Show Jumping Tours competition that started today with the participation of the world’s most famous riders, and will last three days, in addition to the FIBA 3v3 Basketball World Tour, Diria Tennis Cup, Diria Formula E e Prix.
Al-Hilabi has announced a number of international matches, the main one being a special meeting involving last season’s reigning Prince Mohammed bin Salman Pro Cup League, Al Hilal team, Newcastle team, as well as the Italian Super Cup. , in which the winner of the last season’s title E. AC Milan and the winner of the Inter Milan Cup will meet.
