Pakistani authorities said at least 67 people have died as a result of flooding caused by heavy rains in the provinces of Balochistan in southwestern Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the north.
Balochistan Chief Minister Ziaulla Langov, adviser on natural disasters and internal affairs, said the severe floods had claimed the lives of 57 people, including women and children.
For his part, the Secretary General of the region, Abdulaziz Al-Akili, in a brief presentation of the extent of the disaster caused by recent rains and floods, said that about 10,000 houses were damaged, of which 6,700 were completely destroyed, while six major bridges were damaged. in addition to moving thousands of people. The catastrophic monsoon rains also caused the collapse of two small dams in the Toba Kakar mountain range in Balochistan. On the other hand, the Pakistan Disaster Management Authority confirmed that at least 10 people were killed and 17 injured in flooding and roof collapse in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province as a result of heavy rains.
