President Abbas referred to the brutal attacks by the Israeli occupying forces and extremist settler groups that storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque on a daily basis, in flagrant violation of the historical and legal situation.

He indicated that hundreds of Palestinians had been injured and arrested as a result of these attacks, emphasizing the complete rejection of any change in the historical status quo.

The President has warned that the continuation of these incursions into Palestinian cities, villages and camps, the killing of our people and other brutal attacks, if they continue, will lead to terrible and unbearable consequences.

For his part, the US Secretary of State confirmed that Israel was informed of the need to respect the historic situation around the Temple Mount, as well as the freedom and security of access for Muslim believers to the Temple Mount.

Minister Blinken also reaffirmed that his country rejects settler violence, demolitions, evictions of residents and the Israeli army’s incursion into Area A, and called on Israel to take steps to improve conditions.

On the other hand, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed on the phone today with his US counterpart Anthony Blinken the dangerous escalation at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the efforts made to stop it.

The two ministers reaffirmed continued coordination and joint action to end the escalation and prevent an escalation of the cycle of violence that negatively affects everyone, with the goal of restoring global calm.

The two ministers stressed the depth of the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, as well as continued cooperation and coordination of efforts to resolve regional crises and achieve security, stability and peace.
