Patapon Creator Working on Next Generation of Patapon
Patapon is a classic PlayStation franchise that may never see another release. However, Hiroyuki Kotani, the creator of Patapon, is not deterred and has recently announced Ratatan, the next generation of the game.
Kotani and his team at Ratata Arts have launched a Kickstarter campaign for Ratatan’s development. The main goal is to cover a PC launch, with a stretch goal to cover console launches.
Remarkably, the campaign reached its main goal in just 47 minutes, thanks to the support of backers. Ratata Arts expressed their gratitude and excitement in their first community update on the Kickstarter page.
Currently, Ratatan’s funding is still increasing with over 1300 backers. The hope is to reach the stretch goal and release a version of Ratatan on PS5 and PS4.
While Patapon fans would love to see Ratatan on PlayStation, it’s important to note that a console version is the campaign’s third stretch goal. The next goal to hit is online play.
