Peru loses hosting rights for Under-17 World Cup following FIFA decision

FIFA has announced the withdrawal of Peru’s right to host the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup due to the host nation’s failure to meet its obligations to build the necessary infrastructure to host the tournament, as well as the lack of sufficient time to secure the necessary investment and complete necessary work in coordination with the government of Peru in advance. And FIFA has indicated that the tournament is still scheduled to take place between November 10 and December 2, 2023, when the office of the FIFA Council is expected to nominate a new tournament host, thanking the Peruvian Football Association for all the efforts made in this regard.
