Pictures of Lebanese artist Ragheb Alama hosting the Iraqi ambassador to Jordan and his wife caused a lot of controversy on the social networks of Iraq, which is going through a severe political and social crisis, and came to Baghdad to summon its ambassador from Jordan. .
Many have noted the paradox of the poor social and political situation in Iraq, whose population suffers from unemployment, poverty and lack of services in exchange for the luxury they see in the political class.
Internet activists considered the photos “inappropriate” for a diplomat, and some, on the other hand, criticized the attack on the ambassador’s wife after these photos in a society that is still largely conservative.
Lebanese artist Ragheb Alama Al-Jumah posted photos on his Twitter account showing him with the ambassador and his wife and wrote: “From the bottom of my heart, thank you to His Excellency Ambassador of Iraq to Jordan, Mr. Haider Mansour Al. -Adari and his wife, Mrs. Maysam Al-Rubaye, for this generous, wonderful and pleasant welcome.”
And the Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced in a statement late Saturday night that it had summoned its Jordanian ambassador, Haider al-Adhari, to Baghdad after it said earlier: “He is following with interest the photos circulated on social media of the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
She added, “He will take appropriate action in this regard and as soon as possible in a way that will add value to Iraqi diplomacy.”
