Iraqi authorities yesterday announced the return of 469 displaced persons to Salah al-Din province, according to a statement by Iraqi Minister for Migration and Displaced Persons Ewan Faek Jabro, the official Iraqi news agency reported. a family from Sulaymaniyah governorate who returned to their original areas of residence in the Al Qara Joli district of Dujail district in Salah al-Din governorate.
The statement stated that “the total number of returnees has reached 1,016, equivalent to 177 returning families, in addition to their inclusion in humanitarian assistance. The Minister stated that this return took place in coordination with the Samarra Operations Command and the local government in Dujail district.”
It also indicated the involvement of all security, intelligence and service agencies, tribal sheikhs and the Women’s Empowerment Unit within the ministry in the return process.
