Regarding the torch relay, Her Highness said, “Traveling with the torch includes visiting the most prominent cultural, historical, civilizational and tourist sites along the route, which passes about 57 famous sites throughout the Kingdom. by facilitating the growth of the sports sector, which contributes to the goals of the Kingdom’s vision for 2030.”
The torch during the relay will be carried by the athletes on foot or using other vehicles such as horses and vehicles, and the torch will be accompanied by a number of heroes and influencers in society who have made great contributions, championships and achievements.
The torch relay started from the headquarters of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee in Riyadh, from there went to the Medina area, and then went to Tabuk, then to Neom, from there to the Al-Jawf area, and then along the torch route to the northern border area, and then to Grad area before hiking to Qasim area.
After that, the march will land in the Eastern Province, where it will stop at Dhahran, Al-Khobar and Dammam, then proceed to Al-Ahsa Governorate, then proceed to Al-Mukarrama Mecca Region, then to Taif Governorate, and from there to Al-Baha District, to proceed to Asir district and from there to Jazan district before proceeding to Najran district and from there to Al-Ula governorate, then march back to Riyadh governorate before completing the torch relay on October 10 in Diriyah governorate.
Notably, the Games in Saudi Arabia provided the opportunity for more than 20,000 male and female athletes to participate in this major competition through qualification and performance tests.
