Today, Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow is carefully studying the proposals of UN Secretary General António Guterres on Ukraine.
“The UN Secretary General has put forward a number of ideas that are now being carefully studied,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, according to the Russian TASS news agency.
She also added that Guterres’ proposals included “the establishment of a trilateral group composed of Russia, the UN and Ukraine to exchange information and ensure the operation of humanitarian corridors and the provision of humanitarian assistance.”
The UN Secretary General, who visited Moscow yesterday, urged it to work with the Red Cross to evacuate civilians stranded in some Ukrainian cities and regions.
He also urged the Russian authorities to cooperate with the International Criminal Court in case of possible war crimes on the territory of Ukraine, reports AFP.
During his first visit to Ukraine since the start of the Russian military operation on February 24, Guterres is also expected to visit Bucha and later meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
